London: Actor Jude Law, who starred in hits like “Closer” and “AI”, is losing his hair but is being a good sport about it.Mirror.co.uk reports that when the 25-year-old visited his friend Kayvan Novak on the sets of the comedy “Fonejacker” in London, his receding hairline raised some eyebrows.
A source said: “People burst out laughing when he took off his cap, and said he needs a hair op. He told them to ‘f*** off’ but in the end he laughed along.”
Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Jude Law’s 11-year-old son has landed his first major movie role. Rafferty is tapped to star alongside his dad in the sci-fi thriller “Repossession Mambo.”
The son will play a younger version of English actor’s character, Remy, a repossession agent, in the film. The movie is due out next year.
Rafferty’s mother, Sadie Frost, is positive her son is perfect to take on the role of his father’s younger version since he had inherited Jude’s looks.
She is quoted by breakingnews.ie as saying, “Rafferty is very good, he looks just like Jude.”
Jude and Sadie married in 1997 and divorced in 2003. Aside from Rafferty, they have three children more, Finlay Munro (Jude’s stepson), 17, daughter Iris, 7, and son Rudy, 5.
Hollywood stars Renee Zellweger, Matt Damon, Jude Law and Helena Bonham Carter were among the mourners who paid tribute to director Anthony Minghella at a funeral service on Saturday. Minghella, 54, died from complications following surgery for cancer of the tonsils and neck at London’s Charing Cross Hospital in March. The actors joined a diverse mix of guests - including former U.K. royal Sarah Ferguson, British prime minister Gordon Brown and his predecessor Tony Blair - to pay their respects to The English Patient filmmaker at the Thomas More Catholic Church, near Minghella’s home in north London. But the service, which followed a private family funeral, was not without its drama - singer/actress Jill Scott, who teamed up with Minghella for the TV movie The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, fainted during the service and had to be carried out by fellow mourners. Paying tribute to his late friend, Law says, “He was a sweet, warm, bright and funny man who was interested in everything from football (soccer) to opera, and, most of all, his family.”
Jude Law could be the latest actor to turn his attention to modelling, following rumours that he will star as the new face of Christian Dior fragrance.
WWD reports today that the Cold Mountain star is fronting the campaign for Dior’s latest scent, but that the adverts will not be seen in the UK and US.
Although Law will represent the new scent worldwide, it is believed that a male model will replace him in the advertisements for Britain and the States.
For the second straight year, James Bond actor Daniel Craig was named “Britain’s Best Dressed Man” by GQ magazine.
Others in the top 10 were actors Jude Law, James McAvoy and Daniel Day-Lewis, Reuters reported.
Prince William was also recognized by the magazine, but landed on the opposite side of the catwalk — he was named Britain’s 16th worst dressed man, the news agency reported.
Others in his family — his brother Harry, his father Charles and his grandfather Philip — were in the top 50 of Britain’s best dressed men.
After four years of renting his house in Maida Vale, Jude Law has bought it from his landlord for £3.5 million. The 35-year-old actor wants a fresh start and a stable home near his ex-wife Sadie Frost and their three children.
Jude will now spend £1 million gutting and refurbishing the five-bedroom, four-storey Georgian house.
Our source said: “Jude is tired of being an eternal bachelor without a permanent base and is fed up with renting or living out of hotel rooms when he is filming.
“The refurb will be a significant step towards him settling down and a chance to put his mark on the house so he can call it home.”
The house is less than a mile from his old marital home in Belsize Park, which Sadie kept in their divorce settlement. The pair are still close and both play an equal role in bringing up Rafferty, 11, Iris, seven and five-year-old Rudy.
Jude is a regular visitor to Sadie’s house, pictured leaving there only yesterday.Friends say they will never rule out the possibility of getting back together, however unlikely.
Our source added: “Sadie may be rekindling her relationship with her old toyboy Kristian Marr, but there will always be a place in her heart for Jude.
“Jude has felt like a bit of a traveller since his split from Sienna 18 months ago, and he’s ready for a fresh start.
“He lives alone at the Maida Vale house, so will be able to put his own mark on it. Each of his children have their own room, so they will be choosing how they will be done out.
“Installing himself in a permanent base is an important part of Jude leaving his bachelor lifestyle behind, and he hopes it will help him eventually find himself a permanent partner. He would like to have more children in the future.”
Jude has rented the property for four years, and his delay in buying it earlier cost him at least £1 million. When he considered buying the house three years ago, he was told it would be £2.5 million.
He famously admitted in an interview that he was “skint”, so maybe he could be a little more shrewd in the housing market in future, even if it’s for the sake of just a million quid…
According to BBC News, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell are set to replace Heath Ledger in the unfinished film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Production of the film, directed by Terry Gilliam, was suspended after Ledger died on January 22 of an accidental drug overdose.
A spokesperson for Jude Law has confirmed that the role of Tony will be played by three actors. It has not been explained how this will affect the script, although they will attempt to salvage as much of Ledger’s contribution as possible.
Parnassus is the story of troubadours who travel the countryside, offering people the chance to pass into alternate dimensions through a magical mirror.
The film, which Gilliam will reportedly dedicate to Ledger, is expected to be released in 2009.
Hey everyone, my name’s Michelle and Luciana was kind enough to let me co-web with her on her site. I used to own jude-law.org but I closed it a couple of years ago and have always regretted it. Now I’m happy to help Luciana on this site and I’ll be updating some things very soon!
Jude Law employs an interesting technique to deal with the repetitive questioning in press interviews - he gets drunk!
The British actor recently revealed that he hates press interviews so much, that he often gets drunk the night before to be able to stand the repetitive questioning he faces the next day.
The 34-year-old actor said that he had learned the trick from fellow actor Tim Robbins.
He said that alcohol helps to numb his mind and enable him to go through the many interviews he gives while promoting his movies.
“That’s what film festivals (parties) are for. You think I come to them and go to bed early to be bright and clear the next day?” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
“Tim Robbins once told me it’s much easier to do this through a fog. Where else in life are you made to sit somewhere and answer the same questions over and over? It’s interrogation and brainwashing,” he added. (ANI)
